About Our Custom Packaging Company

Welcome to Platt Packaging, a leading packaging company in the UK. As one of the top packaging manufacturers in the UK, our packaging supplies include custom-manufactured thermoformed packaging, contract packaging and the assembly of packaged products. We see ourselves as an extension of your business, working to the same high standards and producing a finished product, giving your customers a great first impression.

Vacuum thermoforming is an incredibly useful way of making bespoke packaging out of rigid plastic. It’s ideal for trays and inserts designed to go inside a box. Custom thermoformed packaging is great for protecting your product on its way to customers’ hands.

Vacuum-forming involves heating a sheet of plastic until it’s soft and using a vacuum to pull it tight against a mould. The plastic then cools and holds its new shape. This is ideal if you want a custom insert that fits perfectly around your product.

Vacuum formed packaging is a really cost-effective packaging solution. The plastic trays can be made from a wide range of eco-friendly materials, but we focus on sustainable materials like RPET.

As a UK packaging company committed to environmental and operational excellence, we prioritise both sustainability and quality across all our processes.

As a gift packaging company as well as a thermoformed specialist, we often create rigid plastic packaging suited for premium items and seasonal promotions. We design and manufacture any thermoformed packaging you need. We’ll start by discussing your requirements and ideas. We can provide spec sheets if you need information about strength, fire resistance or conductivity for our sustainable packaging options.

For small or delicate items, rigid plastic packaging can be useful for protection. This can be in the form of a card-backed blister pack or a hinged clamshell that encloses the product completely. In either case, your design can be printed on the card or inside the transparent packaging.

Blister packs are commonly used for DIY and stationery products like glue, ink cartridges and so on. This mode of packaging is extremely versatile and inexpensive.

Clamshells can also be heat-sealed. This makes them even more secure, perfect for high-value items like mobile phones and computer accessories.

If you prefer, we offer plastic-free alternatives where the packaging is formed entirely from cardboard and heat-sealed with varnish.

In addition, we can store and distribute products once they have been packaged, and using our custom thermoform process, we can design and deliver packaging specifically for your range of products.

Working from dedicated premises, our teams are highly skilled and trained to exacting standards, so you can be confident that you’re getting the quality service you need.

All clam packs/clam shells and blister packs are made from 30% to 85% recycled RPET material; this RPET material is 100% recyclable. All packaging made from this RPET material is not only greener for the environment, but it will not incur the new Plastic Packaging Tax ruling of 1st April 2022.

  • New Clam pack alternatives for your products
  • We have extended our C type clam pack range – doubling it with 4 new sizes
  • We have introduced a new P Euro range in 3 sizes
  • We are also supporting former Mr Blister customers who were using their Virt ranges
  • As always, All of our clam packs are made of 60% Recycled High Clarity RPET material, AND are 100% recyclable.
  • So they are not only greener – they will not incur the new packaging tax

Our Full Range of Packaging Solutions

Blister packs are commonly used for DIY and stationery products like glue, ink cartridges and so on. This mode of packaging is extremely versatile and inexpensive.

Clam Packing matches the shape of the package to fit closely around the contents, ideal for presenting electrical goods, automotive parts, toiletries and cosmetics.

We are proud of our plastic Blister packing, but our customers have asked for an alternative. We now offer an all-cardboard blister pack— the package is assembled using heat-sealed varnish, giving a glossy, resilient finish.

Shrink Wrapping protects your products during transit, keeping them factory fresh. The customer can see if there has been any tampering with the product and get a perfect view of the product.

Edge Bent Blisters have distinct advantages over Sealed Blister Packing and also Clam Shell Packing, offering total versatility –  you can pack the product yourself or change the backing cards to suit individual customers or even different languages.

We can provide Hand Assembly for enclosing items in our range of packaging solutions and assemble speciality gift sets, Promotional Items and Seasonal Products ready for distribution or point of sale.

We can provide Bagging Services to fill or insert multi-component kits into poly bags and then seal the bags and affix labels (either customer-provided or produced by us) to the customer’s artwork.

We can take your old stock or product lines, remove them from the existing packaging, and repackage them into brand-new, up-to-date packaging.  Use our various packaging solutions or supply your existing packaging for us to use.

All your Thermoforming and Vacuum forming needs can be met at Platt Packaging.  We design and produce bespoke Thermoforming tooling to fit your product at a competitive cost. All our processes and products meet ISO standards, ensuring quality and traceability.

Where possible, we use recycled RPET material that is 30% to 85% recycled; this RPET material is 100% recyclable. All of our internal skeletal waste is also recycled, so no plastic waste is sent to landfills.

All packaging made from this RPET material is not only greener for the environment, but it will not incur the new Plastic Packaging Tax ruling of 1st April 2022.

We have also installed solar electricity panels on our building in Tredegar that generate 50 KW hours of electricity a day to offset our high energy usage.
